I've made Fairbanks, Alaska my home since 1996. In 1997, as a Senior at Lathrop High School, I took my first photography class and have been hooked ever since. In 2003, I graduated from the University of Alaska - Fairbanks with a Photojournalism degree after changing my degree at the last minute - realizing that Photography, not Computer Science, was my passion. In 2004, I became a staff member of the Journalism Department at UAF, initially as a Computer Technician and Darkroom Lab Manager. Since 2005, I've been teaching both Basic and Advanced level Film Photography courses, developed a Digital Photography equalivent of our film offerings and have designed several special topics courses involving Photography. In 2010, I began pursuing my MFA in Photography through the Academy of Arts in San Francisco.
