I've been interested in electronics
since my childhood. It took a few years until I learned enough to have a
decent grasp of them, but I'd like to thank what I do know of them has turned
into an obsession. From video game systems to computers; from collectors
items and antiques to much sought-for rarities, some of my collections,
at least in my opinion, are impressive. Here's a few that I'm quite proud
of:

My
Slowly Developing Mac Fetish -
Oddly enough, I started out life as
a typical Mac Hater, and yet, to be
completely honest, it was only because
of my job that any of that has changed
- thankfully. For years I was a tried-and-true
PC nerd, never swaying from the belief
that although Macs might look cute,
they were inferior and not worth my
time. Within mere months of obtaining
my tech job as a Macintosh Computer
Tech, I had already purchased all the
goodies in the picture to the right
- managing to pick up a G3 900mhz iBook
on clearance for $900 in the fall of
2004, a 20gb 4th generation iPod and
the first run of a 512mb iPod Shuffle
- purchased mere hours after it was
offically announced at Macworld. I
had not only become a mac supporter
but a mac geek willing to brag about
the fact that I got a iPod shuffle before
the rest of the world did.
My intent had always been to get a Mac
Mini next and make it my primary computer - but with
the price hike and other personal purchases getting
in the way, my interest started wayning in a Mini and
started focusing more on the incoming Intel-based Macs.
Waiting even longer, my wife ended up getting a bit
more ancy about getting her long-promised computer
for herself - so we went ahead and purchased a 2.0ghz
Intel iMac (Core Duo, not 2 Duo) in the fall of 2006.
Additionally, my iPod purchases didn't
stop with the two that I had - as soon as the iPod
Videos launched, I had wanted one and somehow curbed
my anticipation until the spring of 2006 to get one
- thankfully I did get one because soon enough my 20
gig iPod bit the dust. In a vain attempt to fix it,
I found a friend that had a broken 30 gig video -
not knowing much about the innerworkings of them,
assuming
that parts were interchangable, I cracked open the
